Apps + Tools

Gusto is the best thing to happen to Payroll. Period. Easily add benefits from Insurance Policies to Charity Contributions and Holiday Pay. Run Payroll with a couple clicks or have it run on autopay if Salaries only. Direct Deposits and you don’t do ANYTHING ELSE. Gusto does it for you. All state and federal agency payments and quarterly and annual reports are a thing of your past. SO Worth it!

MileIQ integrates with Xero and is a dream come true for easily tracking your mileage. It runs in the background of your phone anytime you drive. When you remember to open it, swipe left for personal and right for business to categorize your logged drives.

For securing your passwords and only having to remember one master password, use a password manager. We like LastPass. It allows for secure sharing without passwords visible and in case you are smart and have different passwords for all of the things, there’s really no other way to manage them all securely and efficiently.

Project Management

The best time tracker I’ve used. Love it! Use the phone app alone, or get the desktop version and use both. It’s ideal to realize how much time you’re actually spending on jobs to charge accurately. Allows for different hourly rates, projects, categories, and more! This app makes sense of time, if you can believe that!

Slack meet Trello and Kanban Flow, and you guys meet Email and Customer Relationship Management. We don’t know how we survived before Karbon. It’s marketed to Accounting, but really, I don’t know why every industry doesn’t use it. It is great for Transparency across your company, customer communications and requests, project, job, work management, and all the rest. We are endlessly amazed and happy – using Karbon since March 2017.

Great project manager for the minimalist. It’s like a to do list for the visual artist. Similar to Trello, and external team members can have access easily. Doesn’t integrate with email.
